Time to Complete:

At first I was a little sticker shocks and thought about cutting thing off to save money. But decided to trust Gus and went for it. I am very happy with the quality of his workmanship and the final product is amazing. Worth every penny. He was professional, moved everything for me and did what he said he would do. It was actually better than I expected. I will use him each time I need work done. Thanks Gus. – Carrie D.

Distribution Center Painting Project

Ashley Capital acquired Livonia Distribution Center (LDC), a 1,000,000 square feet former General Motors Transmission Plant in Livonia, MI, in November 2015. The building sat empty since GM vacated in 2010 and the property suffered significant neglect. Upon acquisition, Ashley immediately began a renovation program to address the deferred maintenance. The scope of work will include: roof replacement, additional dock doors, an upgrade of the lighting to T5 florescent, structural and paving repairs, and a new ESFR fire suppression system for most of the building.

Livonia is considered to be a main driver of the Detroit economy, due largely to the automotive plants and distribution centers located there. LDC’s 40-acre site occupies a prime location within Livonia – just south of I-96, east of I-275, and across the street from the Ford National Parts Distribution Center. What the Customer Wanted

The client recently purchased the former General Motors Transmission Plant property and needed renovations done before placing the building on the market for tenants. The renovations the clients requested included the painting of the interior ceiling, interior walls and the entire exterior of the building.

The Solution

A quality paint job is vital to the building’s first impression when advertising for a new tenant. The first step of this project would be prepping the interior of the building for painting. When power washing the interior of this past General Motors Transmission Plant, the old paint and grease were coming off in layers. Once the preparation was completed, we used quality materials for the best possible results. All of the efforts on this project were completed in 11 months.

  • Prepared interior and exterior for painting
  • Painted with quality materials
  • Completed the project on time
  • Stayed within budget
